Oh Christmas Tree!

So, we are really quite proud of our first tree ever and I had to post a picture. Yes, I may have put it up the day after thanksgiving but am just now posting...what of it?! It's Christmas! Gimme a break!

We also gave ourselves an early christmas present which made Colin VERY happy...

Life has been pretty hectic as it usually does when the holidays come around. But here's an update on what's been going on. Colin got a new job!! Yaaaay!! We were thrilled. It seemed to have happened easily. Our sweet Bishop (who I love and have loved since the moment we met him) found out that Colin had been laid off and dropped his name with the customer service department of his company, Rescue Alert. He went in for an interview the next day, they told him to go home and talk to his wife and get back to them. So, he called and suprised me with a new job! He started the next day:-) We have been so blessed. Right now he is on a break from school and will go back January 4th and should finish up at the end of April.
Now since we've been so blessed with a good job for Colin I was able to make some decisions about my own job. I gave my two week notice this week and will finish up next Friday. Now, I'm looking for something part time.
Lots of changes lately that we are really excited about and we are SO excited for Christmas this year.
Happy Holiday's everyone!!

When the going gets tough

As my hubby likes to remind me..."Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming. What do we do? We swim, swim"

He's so great. I feel incredibly blessed to have him in my life.

9/11

I tried finding a flag I could put on my desk at work today and could not find one which was rather irritating. So, I made it my desk top. Not much but its the thought that counts. I hope everyone remembers what today is. God Bless!

"Staycation"!!

The Zoo!

"Its to damn hot out here for a penguin ta' just be WAlkin' around outside. We need to get you back to the zoo." Name that movie and I'll give you a brazillian dollar(s)!

The monkey was missing. So, I used the next best thing. Although...He's so much CUTER than a monkey!

Discovery Gateway...Because we're both a couple of big kids.:-)

Me and Nate! I consider him the most famous person I know.

Just delivered breaking news. The chicken got out of the coop.

Don't worry. Local, future law enforcement got him back safely.

Heritage Park

Clark Planetarium. Found our Stunna Shades!

Just bein' a goober. Thats what I love about him!

South Jordan City Citizen Police Academy

Since he's so darn smart and motivated, Colin decided to take a citizen police academy. It was once a week for eleven weeks. He had so much fun. They did all sorts of things. One week they went to the shooting range with the swat team for some target practice. Another week they did a crime scene investigation. It was pretty cool. So, at the end they had this cutsie little graduation during the city council meeting that week. His Mom and I went and couldn't help but take a couple pictures. I turned the flash off so I wouldn't embarrass him SO much.

That is the SJ Police Chief. Woot!

Sun Valley Family Reunion

Better late than never, right?? Finally an update. Well, we went to Sun Valley for Colin's family reunion this year. It was SO much fun. It really is so gorgeous up there. As we were driving in I could smell the pine trees which I didn't realize I love so much!
So, this was the first I had met most of his family. And they were all so nice and fun! Just like his brothers and sister. I got pretty lucky as far as in-laws go:-) Anywho, there were so many fun things to do up there. I'm sure we missed out on some of it because we just didn't have time. The first day we went on a hike up Proctor mountain. I am NO hiker but I had so much fun! We were both dead tired by the time we got back to the condo but it was completely worth it. The view was incredible! We also went paddle boating, Colin went on another all day hike, went to the pool a couple times, ice skating outside in the middle of july, walked around the shops, and went to a movie at the small theater there. And, of course, Colin got to play WOW with Graydon. Here are some pictures!

Notice the empty wallet as we head out shopping;-)

I think we will have to make a stop at every Jack-in-the-Box we see wether we are hungry or not!

Nerd Alert....

So we have been at Colin's family reunion in Sun Valley this past week and we are having so much fun. Its absolutely gorgeous here. But I had to take a second and post this picture of Colin and his brother Graydon. They don't get to see each other often but they keep in touch through WOW. Those of you that know what I'm talking about can consider yourself a nerd as well. WOW. World. Of. Warcraft. Yes, thats my husband and He's proud of it. But when I woke up at about 1 AM and saw these two playing in the dark and heard one of them say something like "I haven't SPF 50'd this priest yet"....the voices in my head told me I HAD to document this.
My flash had to go off so you could see clearly but other than the glare from the laptops, it was pitch black in here.

Finally came to bed and happy as a clown.
